The Reigate business we run ourselves

Sameday Jetwash is a one-van pressure-washing business working out of Reigate: driveway cleans, patio restorations and the occasional commercial forecourt job across Surrey and the bordering bits of Sussex and Kent. It is our founder's own business, not an arm's-length paying client, and we say that plainly because it changes what we can show you: nobody had to approve the numbers, so we publish the unedited Search Console data.

The site it had was a WordPress theme paid for in 2021. On a 4G phone it took eight seconds to first paint. The phone number was a graphic inside a footer image, so tapping it did nothing. The contact form sat three scrolls down an inner page, and the towns covered were a single "Areas We Cover" page listing twelve postcodes in one paragraph, which gave Google nothing to rank. The business was paying around £45 a month to a developer who had last logged in eleven months earlier.

The rebuild took five working days. Day one was a 40-minute call that became the brief. Then a page for each service, a page for each town he genuinely covers, a static build served from an edge network, one contact form that emails him directly, and the Google Business Profile claimed and brought up to date alongside the launch.

The new site loads in under a second on a phone and routes every enquiry straight into the inbox. The Search Console numbers are published unedited: clicks grew from 125 to 9,126 in 90 days, and the site’s average search position improved from 28.8 to 12.8. Most of the click growth came from two hosepipe-ban guides riding the Surrey hosepipe ban; excluding the hosepipe guides entirely, the rest of the site grew from 125 clicks to 703 clicks. The full write-up is in the Sameday Jetwash case study.

Just south of here we did the same job for a paying client. Dirty South Power Wash cleans driveways, patios and roofs out of Horley, and its nine-page builder site became 90 pages on 3 August 2026. The Dirty South Power Wash case study is written from the site's first month: 10,854 impressions, 13 clicks, and the reason the second number is small.

Five checks to run on your own site tonight

Every fault in that story is common, and each one takes under a minute to test on your own site. Do it on a phone, on mobile data, standing outside.

  1. Time the homepage. Count the seconds from tapping the link to reading the first words. Anything past three and a good share of buyers have already gone back to the results.
  2. Tap your own phone number. If it is a picture rather than a link, it does not dial, and the customer standing in their garden will ring the next firm instead.
  3. Count the scrolls between landing and being able to send an enquiry. The right answer is zero or one.
  4. Search your trade plus Reigate in a private browser window. Note where you appear, and whether the Google listing that shows is claimed, current and pointing at the right page.
  5. Look at what your maintenance fee actually bought in the last twelve months. If the honest answer is hosting and nothing else, you are paying a retainer for absence.

If two or more of those fail, the site is costing you work, and fixing it is exactly the job we sell. What the service includes, line by line.

Two kinds of Reigate business, two different websites

Reigate is a market town at the foot of the North Downs, and its businesses split roughly in two: the ones customers walk into, and the ones that drive to the customer. The website job is different for each.

On the High Street

The High Street mixes independent shops and cafes with the usual national names, and the Castle Grounds and Priory Park put steady foot traffic through the centre. For a shop, cafe, salon or practice here, the site has three jobs: opening hours that agree exactly with the Google listing, prices and menus published as text a phone can read, and a booking or enquiry path one tap from the top of the page. The person reading it is usually minutes away and deciding whether to walk in.

Working out of Reigate

For trades and home services the town is a base rather than a shopfront. Jobs run out through the borough and along the motorway, with M25 junction 8 sitting at the top of Reigate Hill. Here the site earns its keep with photographs of finished work on comparable houses, a plain written list of the towns you cover, and a quote path that takes less than a minute. That is the shape of the Sameday Jetwash build, and it transfers to most of the trades: the pages change, the mechanics do not.

What it costs

Three prices, published in full, the same in Reigate as anywhere else in the UK. No "starting from", and no call required before you are allowed to see a number. They do not move by postcode either: a business in Winchester reads the same three figures.

Every tier is £0 setup, month to month, with 10% off for paying a year up front. Inside the first 30 days we refund every month paid and you keep the domain. The pricing page has the full breakdown, and if you are weighing monthly against a one-off build, we have published what a small business website actually costs in the UK in 2026, including the cases where a one-off build wins.

Questions

Answers for Reigate businesses

What does a website cost for a Reigate business?

Three published prices: £49 a month on Essentials, £79 on Growth, £200 on Pro. Setup is £0 on every tier and the fee covers the build, hosting, the domain, SSL, your edits, Google Business Profile upkeep and on-page SEO. Pay a year up front for 10% off. If the first 30 days convince you it was a mistake, we refund every month paid and the domain stays yours.

Is the Reigate case study a real business?

Yes. Sameday Jetwash is a one-van pressure-washing business working out of Reigate, and it is ours: our founder runs it himself, so it is not an arm's-length paying client. That is exactly why we can publish its unedited Search Console data. Clicks grew from 125 to 9,126 in 90 days, most of that from two hosepipe-ban guides riding the Surrey hosepipe ban; excluding the hosepipe guides entirely, the rest of the site grew from 125 clicks to 703 clicks. The full numbers are in the case study.

Do you come to Reigate, or is everything remote?

We are based in East Dulwich, London SE22, and most of the work runs over a 30-minute video call and then email. Reigate is close enough that we can travel down for a face-to-face when it genuinely helps, but no part of the service depends on it. The brief, the draft reviews and every edit after launch all work the same whether we have met or not.

I cover Redhill, Dorking and half of Surrey. Should I have a page for every town?

Only where you can say something true and specific about working there. A stack of near-identical pages with the town name swapped is the kind of thing Google's spam policies treat as doorway abuse, and it can drag the whole site down. A plain text list of the towns you cover plus one strong page per service beats twenty thin town pages. When a town earns a real page, we write it one at a time. It is the same rule we apply to ourselves: our Redhill page is written separately from this one, not generated from it.

Who owns the domain and the site if I leave?

You do, from the first day. The domain is registered in your name, and the content and code are yours. Cancel whenever you like, month to month, and we hand over a working copy inside seven working days with no exit fee. Nothing about the arrangement locks you in beyond the month you are in.

How fast can the site be live?

About a week is normal. The Sameday Jetwash rebuild took five working days from the first call to switching the old site off. The slow part is rarely the build: it is waiting on photographs, prices and sign-off from the owner's side, so having those ready shortens everything.
